Fools Paradise is a blue-collar romantic comedy of feuds, follies, and getting your fingernails dirty.

When Bobbyjay's relatives fill Daisy's grandfather's vintage Porsche full of live smelt, Bobbyjay and Daisy have to get engaged to prevent these backstage Montagues and Capulets from reanimating an old blood feud.

REVIEWS

I loved this book, there was romance, heartache, foul play, and the biggest ... feud ever thrown into this story. … I melted for Bobbyjay … I’ll love you Bobbyjay, come to mama and she’ll make it all better Gorgeous. *kiss* why don’t you all grab a copy of his book and have fun. It’s a great read. Enjoy!!

Oh man this was so funny I loved the quirky fun loving read with some intense yummy scenes.

Daisy and Bobbyjay are great leads for the novel, bringing sanity and intelligence to two families filled with moronic males.

FOOLS PARADISE gives us Daisy and Bobbyjay, the youngest sprigs from modern Capulet and Montague trees, in a blue-collar Jacobean comedy of feuds, follies, and getting your fingernails dirty. Set in today’s Chicago world of union families, ethnic mixes and purely finding yourself, FOOLS PARADISE shows us that there are a lot of smarts, manners and good humor hiding under these blue-collar folks.

Any time a romantic comedy can make me laugh out loud, it’s a winner as far as I’m concerned. There is one particular bedroom scene that is absolutely hysterical, but the entire book is lots of light-hearted fun interwoven with beautiful character development. I didn’t know a thing about stagehands or how unions work, so I got a bit of an education about that as well. I liked this book so much I came back to purchase King of Hearts!

About stagehands
King Dave says of his calling, “I wouldn’t have picked anything else. For those of us in it, it’s a noble calling. Show business doesn’t happen without us. We’re the guts, the dirty underbelly, the grease on the transmission under all the chrome and shiny headlights.”

Jennifer says about stagehands "I love my stagehand heroes. Who wants a skinny, self-absorbed actor or rock star who wears more makeup than I do? Stagehands have more fun, more family, and in many cases they make more money. They're also stronger, hunkier, better with their hands, more chivalrous, and less worried about their hair. A stagehand can get you backstage–boy can he get you, backstage–but he can also fix your car. Stagehands are trained to have good manners by waitresses, who don't take any guff. This could be why they so often end up marrying them.

Fools Paradise Backstage Boys Book 2 edition by Jennifer Stevenson Politics Social Sciences eBooks Reviews

Oh man this was so funny I loved the quirky fun loving read with some intense hot yummy scenes. This book is about bobbyjay and daisy who's families have fought with each other for 35 years.

This fighting brings bobbyjay and daisy together in a very good way as they try to work together to stop the fighting.

Fools of paradise was a great story, I read book two in the stagehand series "king of hearts" first before this book as I was chosen to review it and I loved it so much I needed more.

I have been totally recommending fools of paradise to friends as I couldn't stop laughing. A great romantic comedy that is for sure.
Romeo and Juliette eat your heart out!
A whole new look at feuding families. This book is a wonderful take on the boys behind the scenes. It will make you laugh or cry or both. Romantic comedy at it's best. I received a free copy of this book and it was so good I HAD to post a review.
I love humor and romance combined books and Jennifer Stevenson definitely accomplished that with this quirky read. This was my introduction to her books and I try to review all books that I buy or am lucky enough to get for free. This book was free but I voluntarily review any book I acquire. You can't miss 8f you need a laugh.
Could not put this book down once I started reading this story. Full of mystery, life, conflict. And then Jennifer had to throw in a little mixed up love into the story. You may even find yourself laughing out loud with all the misadventures that are included. I received this book free with the promise I'd give it a a honest review. In my opinion It is well worth the price offered on ..
I thought Fools Paradise by Jennifer Stevenson was a great read. I was allowed another look into the lives of stagehands. The amount of work they do is monstrous. The book tells us all of this with humor, with a look at all of the backstabbing that goes on, and with a look at how they gather together when one of their own is threatened. Great job, Mrs. Stevenson.

Thanks to a huge prank that backfires big time, Daisy and Bobbyjay, who have known each other since they were children, end up engaged -- or Bobbyjay may just end up dead. Turns out they don't know jack about each other -- and the discoveries are both hilarious and thoughtful. Each step digs them in deeper, as they scheme about how to break off their engagement, even as they both privately wonder if they really want to call things off. But family tensions are leading to some ugly scenes and genuine danger. Can true love triumph? Or will Bobbyjay sink from the anchor of his father and brothers? Will Daisy break free of her assigned place in her family?

One thing I really enjoyed about this book is there are no "evil" characters. There are stupid, and insensitive, and old-fashioned characters. There are characters who have no idea where a joke or a vendetta ends and crime begins. But I could feel some small sympathy for the bad guys by the end, even as I wanted them to fail. If you had told me up front that I could feel sympathy for any of those guys? Not a chance.

A fun, fast read!
